How Can I Serve at Moving Forward Chattanooga?
At Moving Forward Chattanooga, we believe that investing in women is investing in the future of our community. We offer programs that empower women to gain the skills, confidence, and resources they need to succeed in life. Our team of dedicated volunteers provides guidance and support throughout the training process to ensure our participants reach their full potential. We are committed to helping women and their families achieve financial stability and independence.
Mentor
This role is the heart and soul of our program, and also one of the most significant time-commitments. Read more about the mentor relationship.
Meal Provider
Sponsors provide lunch or dinner for students on class days or for special events.
Clothing Closet Helper
Volunteers process donations and help women find the perfect employment appropriate attire and accessories.

Ready to join Moving Forward Chattanooga and make an impact in the lives of women in our community?
At Moving Forward Chattanooga, we believe in the power of mentorship. That's why we offer a unique volunteer opportunity that allows our participants to have someone they can call for support and encouragement long after the program ends. This relationship is vital to helping students keep the commitments they make during the program and to provide the support needed for lasting change.

Mentorship is a commitment to a a six-month relationship with the student, during which the mentor and mentee must meet a total of 14 one-hour visits and have 14 phone calls. A prospective member must meet the volunteer requirements and be an active member in a local church.

Consistently prays for assigned mentee.

Contacts mentee at least once a week.

Has regular Bible study with mentee.

Sets both long-term and short-term goals with mentee.

Encourages accountability and follow-through behavior by monitoring mentee’s goals.

Assists mentee in finding information needed to reach goals.

Promotes mentee’s self-esteem.
